Kiltwalk Adventure: 23 Miles for a Cause

Laura's Journey

Laura took on the monumental challenge of walking 23 miles for the Kiltwalk to raise funds for Just Dive CIC. The journey began at Glasgow Green and ended at Balloch, covering a scenic route filled with determination, support, and camaraderie.

The First 13 Miles...

The first 13 miles were a breeze for Laura, almost like a stroll through the park. With the luxury of a full day off, she enjoyed the walk immensely, soaking in the atmosphere and the beautiful surroundings. It was a fun and exhilarating experience, setting a positive tone for the day.

The Tough Miles

However, from mile 13 to 17, Laura faced significant challenges. Pain and fatigue set in, turning each step into a battle. Despite the agony, she persevered, drawing strength from the incredible support around her.

Support Team and Camaraderie

The support Laura received was phenomenal. Not only were there 14,000 other participants whose camaraderie and shared spirit were uplifting, but her dedicated support team made all the difference. Euan Hamilton, her husband, and Meryem Tekin, her friend and instructor, were at every stop, providing much-needed water, sustenance, and encouragement. Their unwavering support helped Laura push through the toughest moments.

Second Wind and Finishing Strong

At mile 17, Laura got a second wind. The support, the shared mission, and the collective energy of the participants fueled her determination. She completed the final miles with renewed strength and a sense of accomplishment.

Looking Ahead

The experience was so rewarding that Laura and her team are already planning to participate in next year's Kiltwalk. With three team members already on board, training will begin soon. If you want to join Laura and be part of this incredible journey, please contact her.
